Since its founding in 1995, Susan Collier Public Relations has raised the visibility of performers, companies and events by sharpening their images and securing them placement in a media landscape that changes every day. Owner Susan Collier learned her trade by helping publicize Garth Brooks, who, at the time, was the biggest recording and concert artist in the world. Concurrently, she promoted such other stars as Patty Loveless, Marty Stuart, Tanya Tucker, Lynn Anderson and Asleep At The Wheel.
Collier’s imagination and zeal so impressed Jimmy Bowen, the head of Brooks’ record company, that when he established a companion label, Patriot Records, he personally appointed her to direct publicity for all its artists—a roster that then embraced Deana Carter, John Berry, Lisa Brokop, Cleve Francis, Bryan Austin and Billy Dean.
Immediately after a new CEO closed Liberty, Collier established her own agency—an all-service operation that oversees artist and image development, media exposure (via television, syndicated and satellite radio, print and online outlets), support-team building and tour press. In various of these capacities, she has worked with John Anderson, Ronnie McDowell, Jeff Carson, David Ball, Baker & Myers, Daniel Smith, Tyler Dean, Leigh Robbins, Steve Holy, Eddy Raven, T. G. Sheppard, Trini Triggs, Perfect Stranger, Red Steagall, Joni Harms, Kimber Clayton, Destiny Row Records, Wildcatter Records and the Australian Music Festival.
Susan Collier Public Relations involves its clients, as appropriate, in the music industry’s most significant conferences and fan events, particularly Country Radio Seminar, the Grammys, the Academy of Country Music Awards and the CMA Awards. As a special service, SCPR also organizes and publicizes showcases for aspiring artists who want to perform face-to-face for Music Row’s movers and shakers.
In keeping with its artist development services, SCPR maintains a working relationship with a network of talent managers, booking agencies, record promoters, record distributors, photographers, graphic artists and special-project writers that the client may wish to contract separately.
